An assailant armed with a crossbow targeted a Serbian police officer guarding the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade. The officer retaliated by neutralizing the attacker. Minister Dacic stated that the assailant's bolt struck the officer's neck. The officer utilized his firearm in self-defense, fatally striking the attacker. The injured officer was transported to Belgrade's hospital for emergency surgery to remove the bolt.
The assailant's identity and motives remain under investigation. Serbia and Israel have upheld their relationship amidst the conflict in Gaza.
